Tina Zunner’s Bio from the Thomas Muffin Website:

Tina Zunner is the head chef and general manager of the Buffalo cafe, Sweet_ness 7. She has been the kitchen chef for over two years. She is self-taught and has the ability of the most highly trained professional chef. At a mere five feet tall, Tina is a legend around this family-owned cafe. She pumps out scratch-made breads and pastries, while calmly filling customer food orders during hectic times in the kitchen, daily. The staff loves her and the customers think the world of her. Tina keeps a massive focus on the matter-at-hand while guiding others to fulfill their responsibilities. Tina is always kind and happy. Her big focus on customer service with real smiles and quality product make her a big reason for this award-winning cafe to thrive. Tina’s dedication and knowledge of all things Buffalo and Sweet_ness 7 bring customers back again and again. Tina makes creative, delicious specials in the way of soups, pastries and breakfast sandwiches daily. Sourcing as much of the supplies and ingredients from local, natural producers is mandatory in this shop, and she takes that very seriously. Tina makes sure that the restaurant reuses, recycles, uses recycled materials, and serves only fresh and natural food and drinks. It takes a team to accomplish this huge task, but it takes a great leader to get the job done.

Ann reported that the village will submit an ad for this. She has submitted the license and will follow-up on the status. Ann reported that she spoke with Wine About Winter committee to see where they purchased their glasses. There was a one-time set up fee of $20 and the screen is $40. If we get 12 dozen at $2.49 per glass the total would be $358.56 plus the $60 set up and screen fee. That would give us a total of 300 glasses. Patt and Julie are reviewing the postcard mailing list for duplicates. Everyone should ask friends and relatives if they need tickets to get presale numbers up. Call or email Julie with the number of tickets you need and she will bring tickets to the July 8th meeting or get them to you if you can’t attend.

Attendees: Greg Zakrezewski, Donna McCloy, Ann Busch, Janet Lyndaker, Julie Maedl, Sarah Reed, Keith Bond, Ann Fisher-Bale, Vonda Westcott

The meeting was called to order at 8:15 AM by President Greg Zakrezewski

Treasurer’s Report – $3,162.82 ($500 reserved for scholarship fund)

Scholarship
Greg reported there are a couple of students interested this year. He asked for three volunteers to review and select the award winner. Please let Greg know if you are interested. He will talk to Brian Yaiser about presenting the award since they sponsor another award and will be at the Awards Banquet.

July 4th Goat Chip Bingo
• Greg spoke with the Chairman of the July 4th Festivities to be sure we have a prime spot for Goat Chip Bingo. Julie will talk with Patt to have tickets run off for presale. She will pass out at the next meeting and mail the remaining tickets to members to sell to help increase sales. We will need two volunteers to sell tickets at the event (approximately 2-3 hours). Please think about volunteering to help with this project.

Wine Event

Confirmed wineries: Leonard Oakes, Schulze Winery, Freedom Run Winery and Viscarra Vineyards. Ann will contact 810 MEADWORKS to see if they are interested in participating (mead – an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains or hops)

Beer – Barker Brewery indicated they could do beer tasting but may not sell their beer. Ann will confirm with them.

License – Ann B. has the application form for the license. She said that technically two farm markets are required. Julie said for our first Wine Event, we had Becker Farms and Schwab Markets but then Becker Farms dropped out the following year. The state has allowed us to have only Schwab Markets since then. It was suggested to ask Viscarra/Becker Farms if they could bring some jams & jellies, fudge, etc. so we could be represented by two farm markets. Ann will confirm if Barker Chocolate Box will participate. If not, Vonda suggested contacting Della’s Chocolates (they sell their chocolates at Schwab Market). Ann F-B said they also sell at Leonard Oakes. Sarah Reed suggested Fowler Chocolates as another possibility.

Tents – We need a 40’ x 20’ and a 30’ x 20’ tent. Our previous tent supplier retired and sold his business. Julies said Big L tent rental is in Batavia. Keith gave Julie the name of a tent rental business in Lyndonville. Julie will contact both for quotes. She will also check on a portable

Scholarship – Roy-Hart Guidance Office has all the information for the RHBPA Scholarship. There are some students interested this year. Colleen called Julie for updates on our changes.

July 4th Goat Chip Bingo – Greg is making sure we get a better spot this year. Patt has ticket info to run off and Julie will mail tickets to everyone this year.

Wine Event –

Leonard Oakes and Schulze Wineries have said yes to attending. Viscarra Vineyards indicated they want to participate but we need to confirm with them. This would be for their beer. Chateau Niagara is another winery that may participate.

Patt’s daughter works at Freedom Run and is another possibility. It was decided that 5 wineries is a good number for this event.

Tents – Julie checking on tent rental places in Lyndonville and Batavia. She will also check on a portable potty.

Food – Keith Bond will provide food. Schwab’s will participate. Ann checked online for the permit form.

Door Prize – discussion on what we should do for a door prize. Will discuss at future meeting.

New Business

Bus for RH Students for Arbor Day – Roy-Hart needs to find a way to fund a bus for the Arbor Day Tree Planting as the PTA can no longer fund this. Julie Maedl made a motion to give $100 to the school, Vonda Westcott seconded the motion. The MATBC will donate the other $100.

Travelling Troubadours – This group will be travelling the Erie Canal and Middleport is their first stop. They travel in a double-decker houseboat. They will stop at Margaret Droman Park and entertain from the boat. Julie suggested we have an ice cream bar set up while they are here. Keith said he could provide. We could invite other community groups to participate as well. Julie will talk with Becky Hinkson about setting this up.

Winterfest 2015 – There were 9 RHBPA members who participated in Winterfest 2015. It was very low key this year. The Lion’s Club is not sure if they will do this next year. It may become an every other year event.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:55 AM.

Next meeting: May 13 at 8 AM at Darrell’s Place
