Christa Lutz, Historian for the Village of Middleport, considers herself lucky, and she hopes her luck will continue. When a local company donated a complete year’s rent for her office at the Masonic Lodge on Main Street, she was so grateful. Now as the year’s worth rent that was donated has been used up, she is hoping she can remain there. “I love having the Main Street location just down from Village Hall,” says Lutz. “People stop in with their items and stories from Middleport’s past. Middleport store wins national brownie contest!
Patrick Cipollone, left, manager of Middleport’s 7-Eleven store, is shown with clerks Rae Barnett, Lisa Maynard (holding lots of fudge brownies), Joyce Kasianczuk, Barb Bowers and Gloria Barnett, after he announced that the Middleport store had sold the most brownies in a contest between Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse area stores. In fact, during the promo period of July 15 through 31, Middleport’s 7-Eleven store sold more than any other store in the entire US. Middleport, noted for being a friendly community, surely supported the brownie campaign with lots of fun and enthusiasm. A new promotion for mozzarella sticks is currently running thru August 31. One has to wonder if Middleport’s love for cheese can out do their love for brownies? Tags: contest
