When you are out getting exercise with your dog, please feel free to us the bags to help keep the canal bank and the Village clean of dog waste.

There are trash cans located throughout the Central Business District in the Village for disposal of used bags.

]]>Just a reminder, if you have outdated or unwanted prescription drugs or over the counter drugs or supplements, there is a drop box in the Middleport Police Department (22 Main Street, next door to the Village Hall, 24 Main Street) to get rid of those things. This drop box is available to everyone, not just Village residents. If you want to get that outdated stuff out of your house, here is an easy solution to that problem.

PLEASE do not flush unwanted items as that has had a tremendously negative impact on the environment. All drugs and supplements deposited in the dropbox are disposed of responsibly by the proper authorities.

]]>Porches in Middleport NYNeed a great gift idea?

How about a poster, suitable for framing, that captures all the warm welcomes that Middleport is known for!

The 18″ x 24″ poster featuring some of Middleport, New York’s welcoming porches is available for a $5 donation. The funds raised from the donations for the “Falling for the Porches of Middleport” will then be used to publish a book written by Anna Wallace, former Village Historian. Her book chronicles Middleport’s history, and funds are needed to publish it.

The photos of the porches were all taken by local photographer Gretchen Schweigert during this last fall. The porches are from all over the Village of Middleport and feature the look and feel of fall in the Village.

If you are interested in a poster, you can pick up them for a $5 donation each at the Village Hall during regular office hours.

 

After the first of the year, copies can also be picked up at the Village Historian’s office in the Masonic Lodge on Main St.
